Uploading content to WordPress can be intimidating for new users.

To make it easier, we've compiled a comprehensive guide to make sure that everything goes as smoothly as possible.

Follow these simple steps to get your content up and running on WordPress and make sure it is SEO friendly:

Step 1: Login Into Your WordPress Account

To access your WordPress account, go to the login page and enter your credentials to get started.

Step 2: Add a New Post/Page

1️⃣ Once in the WordPress Dashboard, you can add a new page or post.

2️⃣ After clicking the “Add New” button, you will see a blank page like this:

Step 3: Add Your Content

1️⃣ First, you need to copy your content from your Google Doc (or wherever you wrote it).

2️⃣ Then you have to paste it into the WordPress page that you’ve created.

Step 4: Add Styles to Your Post

In order to make your articles more attractive and easier to read, you can add some styles to your article.

Adding styles to your articles on WordPress can help to make them more appealing and reader-friendly.

Here are some options:

  • Divide long blocks of text with visual elements such as headings, separators, images, and videos for improved readability.
  • Use italics, bold, and highlights to emphasize keywords or phrases in your article.
  • Incorporate hyperlinks for better navigation between related articles on your website.
  • Add styling effects like drop caps or custom borders for a more interactive reading experience.

How To Add Essential Styles to Your Post?

WordPress is overflowing with awesome content-building blocks. From CTA boxes to pricing lists and even customer testimonials - there's no limit to your creativity.

Let’s explore how we can add some essential styles using those blocks to make your content more appealing.

Before making any changes to your content, make sure the "Show more settings" button is turned on. Just simply select Settings (“gear icon”) in the upper corner of the editor.

This button will help you make the process go more quickly.

🌁Images

Adding images to WordPress posts is a simple task that can help you create engaging post. Here are the steps to follow:

1️⃣ Go to the field, where you want to add your image. Click on “Add block” (”+” icon) or type “/image” to find an image block.

2️⃣ Here you will be presented with 3 options: Upload, Media Library and Insert from URL.

If you already have images in your media library, you can easily embed them into your post by clicking on the “Media Library” button to select any desired image from the library to insert it directly.

You can also pull in external images into your posts for extra visual flair by copying and pasting the full link address of any online hosted image into the “Insert From URL” box.

To upload your desired images from your computer, click on “Upload” button to browse for the image.

3️⃣ And upload the new image with the descriptive filename.

4️⃣ Once your image has been uploaded, add “Alt Text” for SEO benefits and to make your website more accessible.

Select the image and go to “Alt Text” box in “Block” settings on the right sidebar. Now just add a brief description of the image that accurately reflects its content.

Also, you can simply copy/paste images or drag them from your PC and drop them into the WordPress editor to upload, but in this case you might not be able to control the file name it gets.

Separators

Separator blocks are an easy way to add visual appeal and help readers divide lengthy posts into more easily digestible parts.

1️⃣ To add a separator you need need to click on “Add Block” (”+” icon) to open a selection of block types and choose “Separator”.

2️⃣ Select the type of Separator you would like to add - wide line, dots - and click on it.

You will be able to customize how thick or thin the line appears, as well as change its color for extra personalization.

🎨Highlights

Using different colors for highlighting helps to emphasize certain words or phrases and draw attention to important information.

1️⃣ To highlight your text, first, select your desired text and choose “More” from settings. Then click on the “Highlight” button.

2️⃣ Here you'll be able to edit the background and text color of the selected text.

🖼️ Featured image

Adding a featured image to your post is a great way to draw attention to your content and make it stand out.

1️⃣ To add a featured image, click on the “Set featured image” button located in the right sidebar, just below the “Publish” button.

2️⃣ Then, upload your desired image or select it from the media library.

3️⃣ After you’ve uploaded the image, you can add a descriptive title, caption, alt text and description.

4️⃣ Finally, click on the “Set featured image” button and you’re done.

❓FAQ Section

Finally, if you want to provide visitors with quick answers to their most pressing questions, you can add an FAQ section to the end of your post.

1️⃣ First, add a WordPress block and search for the “FAQ” block. If you don’t have this block, try installing a plugin that adds this feature.

Step 5: Preview Your Post Before Publishing

Once you have finished making all changes, preview your content before publishing it on WordPress.

Simply click on the "Preview" button located in the top right corner of the post editor and select “Preview in a new tab”.

This will open a new tab showing you an exact replica of what your post will look like when published.
